Team AQUALINK from Batangas State University, The National Engineering University bagged the 2nd Runner Up for the Agri-Aqua Innovation Challenge

Team AQUALINK from Batangas State University, The National Engineering University bagged the 2nd Runner Up for the Agri-Aqua Innovation Challenge (Student Category) with their Aqualink: An IOT – based platform with Data Analytics capability for the Aquaculture Industry. Funded by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture and Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) in partnership with the Asian Institute of Management (AIM), this innovation challenge commenced early this year and culminated with a pitching competition on November 9, 2022.
Mentored by Engr. Albertson D. Amante, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension Services and Asst. Prof. John Richard M. Esguerra, Head of Center for Technopreneurship and Innovation, BS Instrumentation and Control Engineering (ICE) graduates Engr. Kim Harvey R. Vilela, Engr. Eauduelle Joshua L. Garcia and Engr. Ramon M. Ceriaca Jr. beat the competition with more than 400 applicants around the country and took home P150,000 cash prize.
Their team partnered with BatStateU BS Electronics Engineering (ECE) students including Marc James Beltran, John Vincent Biscocho, Laurence de Castro, Maria Nelly Magboo, Emmanuel Mapalitan, Jerico Matibag, Ilorde Mores, John Carlo Padua, Karl Angelo Radovan, and Andrea Rivera.
Correlated to this, the winning project ensures effective monitoring using IOT and Data Analytics coupled with insurance and is responsive to the attainment of SDGs 2: Zero Hunger, 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth; 9: Industry Innovation and Infrastructure; 12: Responsible Production and Consumption; 13: Climate Action; 14: Life below Water; and 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Recent Sustainable Innovations
