Dr. Vaberlie Mandane-Garcia, the Sustainable Development Officer at BatStateU, delivered a lecture-workshop to the university’s academic community on integrating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the existing student curriculum. Dr. Mandane-Garcia guided faculty members in mapping their programs’ courses to UNESCO’s learning objectives for education for sustainable development (ESD). This approach help the faculty members to identify opportunities to integrate SDGs into the teaching and learning process. This includes learning content, activities, teaching methods, and assessment strategies.
The two-day seminar-workshop, held on May 20-21, 2024, was organized by the Office of the Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Garcia was one of the key speakers on the first day, providing insights and practical guidance to the academic community.
