Batangas State University, The National Engineering University, was recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on June 24, 2025, alongside 113 other Philippine higher education institutions (HEIs) for their participation and ranking in international university evaluations.
The recognition ceremony, titled “Ranked and Recognized: A Celebration of PHEIs,” was held at the CHED Central Office Auditorium in Diliman, Quezon City. The event acknowledged the Philippine HEIs that were ranked in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025 and the QS World University Rankings.
Last June 18, 2025, the Times Higher Education released the results of the Impact Rankings, where BatStateU placed in the 401–600 band globally and ranked second among all participating Philippine universities.
Newly appointed CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, in her message, highlighted an outstanding 5,500% increase in the number of Philippine HEIs participating in these global rankings since 2019—making the country one of the most represented in Southeast Asia. She commended the universities for their commitment and encouraged them to sustain their efforts in advancing academic and institutional excellence.
Representing BatStateU at the event was Dr. Vaberlie P. Mandane-Garcia, Vice President for Development and External Affairs and the university’s Sustainable Development Officer.
