With the goal of contextualizing and integrating sustainable development in the University’s extension services, BatStateU-Pablo Borbon spearheaded by Extension Services Office (ESO) conducted a Faculty Extensionists General Assembly and Forum on March 28, 2023.

The 8-hour forum commenced with the lecture of Dr. Vaberlie P. Mandane-Garcia about the importance of ensuring the sustainability and impact of community outreach activities.
“Our extension services has to transform the lives of the beneficiaries and continually impact their lives even if the extensionists have left them already”, said Dr. Garcia during her lecture.

Other invited speakers are Assoc. Prof. Maria Theresa A. Hernandez, Asst. Director of Gender and Development (GAD) who provided a discussion on intensifying gender mainstreaming in the Extension Service PPAs, Dr. Aimee M. Guia, Asst. Director of Extension Monitoring and Impact Assessment (EMIA) and Asst. Prof. Kristia Lei A. Reyes, Asst. Director of Community Development Services (CDS), both highlighted the significant changes in the revised ESO Manual, including student participation, additional incentives for faculty extensionists, volunteerism, new ESO forms, and reports.

The forum centered on the theme “Echoing Usapang Sustainability at Iba pa”. The University recognize the faculty extensionists’ role in mainstreaming sustainability across the extension communities.
