In line with its commitment to sustainability, College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Department of Batangas State University-The NEU Pablo Borbon Campus held a capability training program for its faculty members on April 13, 2024.

Titled “”CASCADE: Collective Action for Sustainable, Committed, and Attainable Development Efforts,”” the program was held at Acacia Hall on the 5th floor of Higher Education Building 1. It focused on equipping faculty with the necessary skills and knowledge to integrate Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) principles into their curriculum.

Dr. Vaberlie P. Mandane-Garcia, Sustainable Development Officer of the university, led the session. By building a deeper understanding of sustainability issues and identifying gaps in the current curriculum, the training empowers CAS faculty to mold their students into responsible global citizens prepared to address future sustainability challenges. The program was attended by 50 permanent CAS faculty members.
