A group of students from Batangas State University (BatStateU) and Lingnan University (LU) successfully implemented the Project Summer Day Camp as part of the Joint Humanitarian Entrepreneurship Summer Academy. The project aimed to revitalize the existing Day Care Center of Barangay Talahib Pandayan and provide educational and recreational activities to the local children.

During the opening program, participants and facilitators engaged in discussions about the daily activities of the Summer Day Camp. They were tasked with teaching lessons on various subjects, including Arts, Sports, Science, Music, and Cookery. While some participants focused on teaching, others were involved in beautifying the Day Care Center by adding mural paintings and other educational materials.

As part of the summer camp’s outreach efforts, a feeding program was organized to provide nutritious meals to the students. The project also resulted in the creation of a module on implementing Summer Day Camps in all Day Care Centers in Batangas City, in collaboration with the City Social Welfare and Development Office.

The culmination of the Summer Day Camp was a graduation ceremony for the participating pupils. Dr. Vaberlie P. Mandane-Garcia, Ms. Ng Aik Min, and Barangay Officials graced the occasion, honoring the students’ achievements.

The successful implementation of Project Summer Day Camp was made possible by the dedication and hard work of the student volunteers from BatStateU and LU. The project team included 5 students from BatStateU and 5 students from LU. The project was facilitated by four faculty members of BatStateU.
